About Us

MN8, Sacred Cows and Writing

Most blogs have an introductory post that talks about who the writers are, and why they have chosen to do the blog.  It’s introduction time.

What is MN8, a.k.a. The Herd?

Sounds like a spy agency, doesn’t it?  But no self-respecting spy agency would do so many cow puns.  What we are, is a writing group.

Oh, I get it.  There are eight of you, and you’re all in Minnesota.

That’s approximately true.  We started out with eight people, but our member numbers fluctuate, and at least one of our members moved out of state.

So, what sort of stuff do you write?

Mostly SF and Fantasy.  Please feel free to check out our members bibliographies and links to our members’ other online time-wasting activities.

What is this blog for?

Lots of things.  Conversations about writing craft, book and movie reviews, and of course bad cow puns.  It’s a group project that we hope will be fun.

Okay, I get all that.  Why cows?

Everything is better with cows.  Just ask them.

From the cover of the udderly fabulous “Click Clack Moo: Cows That Type” by Doreen Cronin. It’s the best picture book about literary cows ever.
Is there an actual cow?
Reality is flexible.
